Intuition for Tuition

The Scholarship was created to help empower women through education.  It is awarded twice per year and the applications for the Fall Semester 2019 are currently being accepted.

The focus of the Scholarship for this award period is:
A Woman’s Intuition.

A Woman's intuition

A Woman’s Intuition: In today’s world, intuition is often belittled, even regarded as unwise. Strong women recognize this as one of their greatest powers. They follow their hearts and trust their guts. They question. They think. They feel. They act. And they often find that this “seventh sense” helps them make the most important decisions in our lives.

Simon Sinek, the well known author of Start with Why, says “Whether you defer to your gut or you’re simply following your heart, no matter which part of the body you think is driving the decision, the reality is that it’s all in your limbic brain.”

Our limbic brains are powerful assessors, assimilators, and processors. Decisions made there often contradict conventional rationale and analysis. Richard Restak, renowned neuroscientist and author of The Naked Brain says that “decisions made with the limbic brain, gut decisions, tend to be faster, higher-quality decisions.” These decisions are generally strong and sound.

Think about a time when you, or another strong woman, “went with your/her gut,” in a situation where it didn’t make sense to the rest of the world. What happened as a result? How has this instinct and/or spirituality directed your life-decisions?

The Scholarship is open to all female students enrolled in an accredited college or trade school. will award one $500 scholarship per semester (spring/fall) to the student who writes the best response to the following idea.
